Modifications

5 years ago, I set out to buy a Pacer that I could fly and slowly modify to fit my needs.  I was looking for a nice clean, attractive later model PA 22/20.  I wanted the later model for the split/sliding front seats, center stack radios etc.  I also wanted 160hp.  I found "triple3eightzulu" in Montana, owned by a gentlemen who had worked with his mechanic to restore the airplane in the mid 90's and then flown it since.  After a thorough prebuy, we agreed on a price and I flew it back to Oregon.  Every couple of months, it would make it's way over to Steves Aircraft near Medford Oregon for modifications until it became what you see here on these pages.

Vortex Generators on wing and horizontal stab.

Light weight oil cooler with new lines.  Steves Aircraft gascolator.

82/41 "Borer" propeller

31'' AKbushwheels with double puck brakes.  Baby bushwheel tailwheel.  Landing gear is uncovered for inspection and has appropriate bracing for the big brakes/tires.

Squared off wings with Ron Sullivan wing tips

Gizmo panel dock for Garmin 496 (or 1,2,3 95/96) ipod/XM weather capable

Also has the following approved modifications/paperwork:

1) Paperwork/weight and balance, or STC's for 600/800/8.50's, 26" goodyears and 26-31" bushwheels
